No More Pureed Foods
Yesterday was Blake's first meal without any baby food! He ate lunch like a little adult. He loves wheat bread. He ate half a slice, some cubed pears, some petite pois (or "little peas" for those like me who don't speak French), and some grated carrots. It sounds very healthy, doesn't it? And it was, until the post-lunch period. I was eating lunch with the rest of the Mom's Group, when Blake ripped a chip right out of my hands! I never intended for him to taste Lay's potato chips at 10 months, but he was one happy baby!

Does twice make a pattern?
We are always asking how many times Blake has to do something the same way for it to be a legitimate pattern. We have decided that after 11 days of the same going-to-bed routine (with slight modification for a two-night stay in Iowa), a pattern has been established. For me, this is wonderful. A bed time of 7:30 for Blake means I can be asleep by 8:30 or 9. This probably sounds boring to many of you, but as a morning person, it is all I have ever dreamed of. Now, I have a good excuse: I have to be up early with the baby! :)
It remains to be seen whether two posts make a pattern...
Picture update: Erik came through for me with directions for picture posting. This is from when Blake was 6 months, but it is the most recent one I can find right now. The others must be on my camera. It works for my picture-posting test, and it's cute!

Our first post...
It's a good thing I have a technically-inclined brother-in-law, or I never would have attempted to keep in touch with family and friends with a blog. Erik also keeps a blog on this site, and he doesn't know it yet, but if I get into dire trouble or maybe even if I just have writer's block, I'm calling him!
Tom suggested that I start a blog to share an important piece of information with anyone who wants to know. It's about flax seed meal! Blake had to go on vitamins with iron last week. Given former issues with constipation, I headed this one off at the trail. We started with a little flax seed meal with his breakfast everyday. That and some additional water, and things are moving along just fine. I don't want to begin my blogging career with a reputation for too much talk about poop, so that's all I have to say about that.
I hope to figure out how to post pictures sometime before Blake's first birthday. For now, I hope words will suffice. Blake is teething...again...or still. He already has two teeth on the bottom. One has pushed through on the top. We are awaiting the arrival of three more.
I'm eager to see what a "posting" on our site looks like, so that's all for now!
